While I really am an avid supporter, the presentaiton and "general" nature of these accomplishments are really poor and incomplete. Who is writing editing this site? Initially your team was on point/impressive with its use of technology. What happened here? Please tell the people what HAS been done during your administraiton in a clear, concise way. The above list is almost condescending in its presentaiton. Do not over-simplify to the point of nothingness.

I hope that this is not off topic, however, many people need to know the following before making anymore negative comments about homosexuals serving in the Military George Washington had no problem at all of accepting the services of Baron Von Steuben.I doubt highly that any members of Congress are aware that if it weren't for Van Steuben's help, we would have lost the war at Valley Forge to the Red Coats and would more than likely be bowing to the King of England right now.

Thanks for your comment Anonymous. I was not trying to make a judgment about whether everything that America has done in its history was good or bad. I'm quite proud of some of the achievements I listed, and less proud of others. My only point was that we have done a lot of things with money we didn't have.

We fought the Revolution with money that we didn't have. We purchased Louisiana and conquered the continent with money we didn't have. We defeated the Nazis with money we didn't have. We overthrew the governments of Iraq and Afghanistan with money we didn't have. I don't see why we can't pull ourselves out of recession, regulate the financial markets and reform the health insurance system with money we don't have.

The Republicans controlled the Presidency, both houses of Congress, and the Supreme Court for six years. Still waiting for someone to post a list of their positive accomplishments during that time (there are basically none) and why returning power to them would be any different. Everyone always asks to see proof, they say that because they haven't gotten their job back he failed on the economy right now, and since there are soldiers still fighting that he isn't withdrawing. You have to look beyond yourself and see the big picture.
Has everyone forgotten about the balance of power? It exists in such a way that if you want to see change the republican party needs to block out the few people who are dead set on ruining his term in office by inhibiting the progress of the nation.
They stand there and claim they are here to work on everything together but vote down everything and when anyone(including the Rep. leader) says that He thinks we can find some common ground they declare there is a "undeniable barrier" that will never allow a compromise.
People are programed to criticize leaders. It is the only way to hold them accountable. That being said, we often forget about the many other leaders that WE have elected, and their actions(until they have affairs and crap).

On a last note... if you want to close Gitmo... find as city to host the fair trials for those held there. Not one city has volunteered but many have said 'Not us, we wont take the risk'

Obama getting the Nobel Peace Prize is about as sickening as Kissinger getting it. Warmongers winning peace prizes totally make a mockery of those deserving people committed to peace.

What planet are you from thinking he has "put the US financial system on a much firmer footing"? He’s pandering to the same bunch of crooks the Bush admin was, plus some, on our paychecks – if you are lucky enough to still get one of those.

And yes, Obama has reached out in a major way to the Muslim world by putting thousands more Muslims on No fly lists, ordering more airstrikes and drones that kill scores of civilians. Lofty words mean absolutely nothing when your kids or parents are blown to bits - or when your mother is stripped and cavity searched just because she happens to be Muslim. She might be 87 years old and bound to a wheelchair, but "strip her anyway." Yep, that'll win hearts and minds.

Many things on this list are questionable, and worded pretty ambiguously. "phasing out gitmo" really can't be counted as an accomplishment, for example, because, well, it hasn't been phased out. In fact its still used, not unlike it was a year ago when Obama first said he was going to close it.

Does starting to withdraw troops from Iraq really count? I guess that depends on who you ask.

I agree w/the other comment that asks for dates and references...links to executive orders etc. There are lots of things not on this list too...of course they are negative.

But hell, who wants a fair list. It's so much more fun to jerk eachother off.

If it were a completely negative list, i'd ask for balance w/the positive and would also want references - for both.

A balanced list would provide a lot more context.
