It follows from what you are saying, Harrison, that most of the complaining going on is getting us nowhere, because no one is receptive to ideas that contradict what they already think. If we're going to have a healthy debate about anything, we have to agree to listen to one another. In order to do that, we have to at least acknowledge what the other side is saying before we automatically criticize them.

As in: thank you for your comment, Harrison, I really appreciate it, and I get what you are saying. And may I point out some things that you might not have considered? . . . .

If we could all learn to talk like that, we might not need to propose a no complaining day.

Some people who complain will always do so because they are unhappy or feel slighted but often it is those who are the reciever of the complaints that wish to silence them for they are being pointed to the folly of their ideas and they don't like that.
